Privacy Policy — Isaac Scanner

Last updated: 31 August 2026

Isaac Scanner collects nothing.

That is the whole policy, but App Store Connect needs a URL and reviewers need the detail, so here it is in full.

What the app does with the camera

The app uses the camera to recognise game items you point it at. Every frame is processed on your device by on-device machine-learning models bundled inside the app. Frames are held in memory only for as long as it takes to analyse them, and are then discarded.

Camera frames are never uploaded, never sent to a server, and never shared with anyone.

What leaves your device

Nothing. The app contains no networking code at all. It works with the device in airplane mode, and it will keep working if this project disappears tomorrow.

The one exception is a link you tap on purpose. Two links in Settings, to the Binding of Isaac Wiki and to the Creative Commons licence, open in your own browser and leave the app. From that point those sites apply their own privacy policies, not this one. The app sends them nothing about you.

What is stored on your device

None of this is transmitted anywhere.

Analytics, advertising, tracking

There are none. No analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash reporter, no tracking identifier, no third-party code that phones home. The app requests no permission other than the camera.

Children

The app is a reference tool for a video game and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect information.
